Sonopress has produced the first EcoRecord for a German rap artist for the Berlin label Keine Liebe Records / Sony Music: Prinz Pi released his new album “WESTBERLIN” on May 16, 2025 in an eco-friendly LP format.
The album is a tribute to the capital city, which is characterized by contrasts, and addresses the ongoing social tensions. "Where there are walls, systems, mindsets and worlds collide - without dialog. This is exactly what ‘WEST-BERLIN’ is about," says Prinz Pi about the conceptual core of the album.
A double LP in gatefold format was produced, supplemented by an exclusive Limited Care Package Edition, which, in addition to the EcoRecord, contains an elaborately crafted rugby sweater - inspired by an original from the 1990s.
“We are delighted that Prinz Pi and Keine Liebe Records have chosen the EcoRecord,” says Jörg Pollmeyer, Senior Vice President Sales at Sonopress. “As the first German rapper on our sustainable record, he is setting an example - for quality, awareness and creative responsibility.”
Prinz Pi also emphasizes the relevance of the cooperation: "It was important to me that this album not only shows attitude musically, but also in its physical form. The decision to use EcoRecord was therefore logical - and the collaboration with FOUR Manufacturing and Sonopress was absolutely convincing."
With this project, Sonopress is once again underlining its role as a technological pioneer and reliable partner for the music industry in the field of sustainable media production.
