Sonopress presents sustainable solutions for the music industry in Munich

• The global music industry continues to focus on environmental and climate protection

• EcoRecord from Sonopress is becoming increasingly popular

• High-calibre X-Pert panel on the topic of ‘Environmentally Friendly Record Production’

Guetersloh/MunichMa09, 2025  Just over a year ago, leading storage media manufacturer Sonopress launched the EcoRecordonto the market and presented it to the assembled experts at the HIGH END 2024 in Munich. At the time, the experts were impressed by the quality and, above all, the sound of the sustainably produced PET-based long-playing record. The reactions ranged from ‘crystal-clear appearance’ and ‘excellent flatness’ to ‘outstanding sound quality, especially in the higher audio frequencies’ and ‘excellent smoothness in playback behaviour’. These positive reviews, but above all the strong will of almost all players in the global music industry to reduce the environmental impact of their work and thus actively contribute to the protection of the environment and climate, have led to the EcoRecord writing an impressive success story over the past twelve months. And when the HIGH END 2025 opens its doors in Munich from 15 to 18 May, the experts from Sonopress will once again be there to talk about this success story and present further sustainable innovations  such as the EcoCD.

The fact that Sonopress commissioned its third machine at the Gütersloh site just a few weeks ago, increasing production capacity to more than three million sustainable discs per year, shows how well the EcoRecordhas been received by the market over the past twelve months. Sven Deutschmann, Managing Director of Sonopress, is delighted with the continuously increasing demand for the climate-friendly long-playing discs: “With the EcoRecord, we have hit the bull's eye with our clients from the music industry – from major to independent labels.” Not only global stars such as Ed Shearan now rely on the sustainably produced discs from Gütersloh, but independent labels such as K7 and providers of classical music are also on the ever-growing list of customers. “Our absolute highlight of the past year, however, was the collaboration with Coldplay for the launch of their new album Moon Music,” emphasisesManaging Director Deutschmann. Sonopress has sustainably produced all LPs and CDs for the successful British band led by lead singer Chris Martin. A huge project for which Sonopress and the Warner Music Group (WMG) were honoured with the prestigious Clio Award in Gold at the beginning of the year.

Sven Deutschmann will also report on this success and many other topics at the top-class X-Pert Panel on ‘Environmentally Friendly Record Production’, which will take place as part of the supporting programme at this year's High End. The panel, which is scheduled for 17 May from 10:45 to 11:30 a.m. in the Press Centre (Atrium Hall 2), will be moderated by industry legend Michael Fremer.
