Guetersloh, July 23, 2025 – Sven Deutschmann, Managing Director of Sonopress, and Jörg Pollmeyer, Head of Sales at Sonopress, visited Warner Music Group’s (WMG) London office at the end of June to celebrate their prestigious Clio Gold Award. They handed the golden Clio statue to the WMG team in recognition of the close and successful collaboration on the award-winning sustainability project for the Coldplay album Moon Music.

First production line successfully commissioned at new Charlotte, North Carolina site

Leading storage media manufacturer Sonopress is pleased to announce that it is now officially certified to the international Global Recycled Standard (GRS). The certification underscores Sonopress’ commitment to sustainability and environmental protection. The GRS is a voluntary product standard that promotes the use of recycled materials in products while taking into account social and environmental practices and chemical restrictions.

Celebrated pop-rock band Coldplay has just given a sold-out concert in Budapest – and they were joined on stage by a record player and an “Eco Record” produced by Sonopress. The Gütersloh-based company has now also produced the first “Eco CDs” for the band and their label – yet another innovation that saves large amounts of CO2 during production.

Once again, Sonopress has the privilege of producing an Eco Record for a global star. The environmentally friendly version of the new edition of Ed Sheeran’s 2014 double album “X” is already in great demand ahead of its official release. The company plans to expand its production of Eco Records; large orders have already been received.

Word of the new “Eco Record” from storage media manufacturer Sonopress, which is part of Bertelsmann Marketing Services, has spread to experts in London. Three sound engineers from the legendary Abbey Road Studios visited the Gütersloh-based company to learn more about the eco-friendly new vinyl LP.

The “Eco Record” from the Bertelsmann Marketing Services’ storage media manufacturer Sonopress is in high demand: the environmentally friendly new edition of the album “Demidevil” from American rapper Ashnikko was released at the occasion of “Record Store Day” and is as good as sold out. The company has already received more “Eco Record” orders.

There is huge industry interest in the “Eco Record,” the sustainable LP Sonopress has just launched on the market. Liz Mohn and representatives of the Liz Mohn Foundation recently visited the Bertelsmann company to see the production process for the innovative “Eco Record” for themselves.
