Sonopress has introduced a company-wide sustainability mission statement. The document defines key areas of action and outlines the framework for the further development of existing measures in the areas of environment, resources and responsible corporate governance.
The mission statement is based, among other things, on the current Bertelsmann Environmental Policy and existing Group-wide climate targets. It is aligned with the Bertelsmann Climate Target 2030 and addresses requirements relating to emissions measurement, resource use and transparency.
Five key areas of action are at the core of the framework: climate protection and emissions management, resource efficiency and circular economy, product and process development, supply chains, as well as employees and corporate culture.
Sonopress records direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1–3) and develops measures to reduce them along the entire production and supply chain. At the same time, existing approaches to material efficiency and the use of recycled materials are being continued and reviewed.
In the area of product development, the company is working on the further development of existing solutions and continuously evaluates new materials and processes with regard to their environmental impact. Examples include approaches such as EcoRecord or EcoCD, which may enable reduced environmental impacts depending on the specific application.
“With this sustainability mission statement, we are creating a shared foundation to systematically develop our activities in the areas of environment and resources. For us, it is essential to make progress measurable and to implement measures consistently along our value chain,” says Sven Deutschmann, CEO of Sonopress.
The mission statement also provides for regular reporting in line with ESRS requirements and the involvement of relevant stakeholders. Progress and measures are continuously reviewed and further developed.
With this framework, Sonopress establishes a structured basis for systematically integrating and advancing sustainability aspects within its existing processes.
